ST. LOUIS, Dec. 23, 2009
– Craig Aubuchon,
M.D., of
Mid County Orthopaedics has been certificated to use Tornier's Salto
Talaris® Anatomic Ankle for total ankle replacement surgery.
Dr. Aubuchon was one of the first orthopedic surgeons in the St. Louis area
trained on this advanced ankle implant technology.
Considered to be the next generation for ankle replacements, this implant has revolutionized
surgical options and solutions. This anatomic ankle replacement provides the surgeon
with the ability to reproduce the natural flexion and extension movement of the
natural ankle joint. Intended for patients who want to remain active after surgery,
this implant will help relieve pain and significant disability in patients with
ankle joint damaged by severe rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative arthritis and/or
failed previous ankle surgery. According to
Dr. Aubuchon, "With the use of this implant more natural ankle motions are
restored, while providing the patient with greater mobility and comfort."
